JAMES BLOKLAND – EDITOR

Biography

JAMES BLOKLAND brings over 25 years of film-making experience to his role as Editor on award-winning feature films, TV programs, documentaries and short films.  His work has screened at festivals and been broadcast around the world, and he has shared credit with the likes of Charles Officer, Sook-Yin Lee, Divine Brown & Bedouin Soundclash.

James has edited four features for theatrical release: NURSE.FIGHTER.BOY was nominated for 10 Genie Awards and named one of TIFF’s Canada Top Ten films, YEAR OF THE CARNIVORE opened Canada First! at TIFF ’09, TOILET rolled out on 100 screens across Tokyo, and the feature doc COLOUR ME played to packed houses at TIFF Bell/LightBox and was sold to the Documentary Channel in the U.S.

James has also acted as an editorial consultant, giving creative notes on the feature films Molly MaxwellKingston Paradise, and Running Mates, as well as the documentaries Goodness in Rwanda and The Defector.

When he’s not working on other people’s films, James enjoys making his own films, playing tennis, playing with his Apple gadgets
– and spending lazy weekends with his wife, daughter and pup.
